Kobi GO! brings fast & fun blending exercises to practice the foundational skill of reading.
Blazing fast blending is required for efficient decoding - the ability to recognize letter shapes, match them to letter sounds, and understand those sounds as words. Your kid has a difficult job!
Research confirms that accurate decoding is the foundation for later fluent reading. When children do not master this skill well, they resort to ineffective strategies, such as guessing words from context or guessing based on the first letter. By reading meaningless letter combinations without context, we are effectively working on this skill.
The systematic and gradual introduction of new letter sounds and new sub-skills ensures that the child is constantly upgrading the skills they have acquired.
Kobi GO! provides lots of repetition in a fun way to speed up the process by which letter sets are gradually anchored as a unit in long-term memory. This process is called orthographic mapping and ensures that good readers immediately recognize the word as a whole. Learn more about this.

The web-app consists of 3 sections that are accessed from the bottom menu:
- A growing collection of timed exercises of selected two and three letter blends: CV, VC, CVC, VCV, VCC, consonant blends, and more.
- Two-letter blends of all possible VC and CV combinations per each letter of the alphabet.
- Easy Funny Readers.

No. You can use the app without the need for an account. You can optionally create an account to store your preferences and access additional features.
Open https://go.kobiapp.io on your phone or tablet and your browser will prompt you to add the app to your home screen. Your app will automatically update with new features and information.

Kobi GO! is a web app, so you can add it to your phone home screen without the need to install the app through a store. However, we might make dedicated versions for IOS and Android too that will come with additional features.

Our Story
We are on a mission to design better EdTech solutions for home use - Science of Reading aligned, effective, and easy to use. Being parents ourselves we are painfully familiar with the consequences of the lockdowns on foundational skills such as blending. Therefore we created Kobi GO! - a fun tool that offers LOT'S of repetition in fun and engaging way. This will help your child build automaticity of this foundational skill. Blend away!
